Jamaica College Old Boys Association of New York Announces Prestigious Griffin Awards at the iconic Kaufman Music Center - Merkin Hall.
New York, NY - August 01, 2023 - The Jamaica College Old Boys Association of New York (JCOBA- NY) will hold its highly anticipated Griffin Awards, a magnificent celebration of excellence and achievement, at the iconic Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall in Manhattan on Saturday, October 14, 2023.
The Griffin Awards, a pinnacle among the association's philanthropic events, will pay tribute to exceptional individuals whose profound impact on their communities resonates with the core values of Jamaica College. Among this year's esteemed honorees, we proudly recognize the incomparable Hon. Audrey Marks, Ambassador of Jamaica to the United States, as she receives the Woman of Distinction Award. Additionally, we will bestow upon Dr. Joseph Tait, a member of the Class of '53, the Order of the Griffin - Distinguished Alumnus Award.
The grandeur of the evening will be amplified with a captivating performance by the world- acclaimed classical pianist Alan Hobbins. A Jamaica College alumnus, Hobbins' remarkable talent and breathtaking artistry will leave the audience spellbound, embodying the spirit of Jamaican excellence.
In anticipation of this exceptional event, Carl Bennett, President of JCOBA-NY, shared his enthusiasm, stating:
